How did your assessments go? Mine went well. I am sharing a bit of general information about each below. Our three questions from last week were about:
- Goals in all areas of life: Were you able to put down a baseline and where you would like to go? I was. Right now, I am not zeroing in on any one goal, but working to move each goal forward. It is important to keep measurable goals, to know where you are, and to know where you want to be.
- Physically: working on both functional fitness and walking (looking forward to spring to be outside!)
- Nutrition: navigating both medicine-induced issues as well as allergies is difficult. I am seeking God’s wisdom in balancing these with good nutrition, having a plan for both “easy days” with little side effects and good days, and staying in budget. This is a goal that is a work in progress.
- Spiritually/Mentally/Emotionally: attending church, studying His Word, praying, memorizing (more difficult than when I was younger), and reading some great books are all helping me draw closer to our precious Lord. I do have goals in each of these areas.
- Intellectually – studying new things keeps me moving forward. My goal is to finish up two new skills this year.
- Purpose:
- My number one goal is glorifying God in all.
- My second goal is to remain as independent as possible for as long as possible. I do not take my precious support network for granted and want to do all I can for as long as I can as well as be set up for when more help is needed.
- Challenges:
- Resources: It is a constant battle of time, strength, and finances.
- Whole foods are needed. Preparing said whole foods taxes my strength and ability with arthritis and other health issues.
- Cleaning and laundry are constant due to the severity of my allergies. Thankfully, God has provided a couple hours a month of cleaning help which may not seem like much but is amazing. They work on general cleaning. I work on the deep cleaning and many loads of laundry.
- Allergies are intense and to very, very common items. This means that I must make many things from scratch that others simply buy. It all takes time and strength.
- Allergies make each task or outing a challenge and something that has to be thought out before-hand.
- Resources: It is a constant battle of time, strength, and finances.
These are generalities of my fitness journey. We would love to hear about your journey.
