Home Connections: Connected to Christ. Connected in Christ.
Home Connections started when an isolated individual with chronic illness saw a need. Disabled at a young age, recent and permanent health issues necessitate much isolation. This isolation is difficult as we are created by God to be connected and to have fellowship in Christ through community. For many, many people from various backgrounds and needs, being together in the community of a church is not possible. The challenges created by this isolation are immense.
Home Connections is a place to meet that need in a small way by connecting people in similar circumstances in order to connect to Christ and to each other. Our vision is to come alongside the isolated individuals by sharing Bible studies, prayer requests, and fellowship in whatever means we can.
Purpose
We exist to connect isolated people to Christ and in Christ by praying, worshiping, encouraging, exhorting, and studying God’s Word together.
Hebrews 10:24-25 KJV, “and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”
We believe that these verses are even for us, the believers who are isolated by health, caregiving, age, etc. This community provides that place for us to connect.
Who We Are and Aren’t
Who we are: We are a group of isolated individuals connecting in Christ as we also point each other to Christ. While working to encourage isolated individuals, we are also living the isolated life and dealing with chronic illness ourselves. This is a place where we can share life and resources, pray together, study God’s Word and encourage one another. In some ways, we could be considered a home Bible study meeting from our separate homes. We are part of the body of Christ who long to serve Him from wherever we can, however we can. We can help each other in encouragement, as well as by sharing what has helped us in the practical battles of an isolated life.
Who we are not: We are not professionals and should not be considered as such. Any suggestions or ideas on the site or in the group are the opinions of the individuals and should not be taken as professional counseling or medical advice.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old Testament and New Testament are the inerrant, inspired, and infallible Word of God. God’s Word is the final authority for faith and life.
We believe there is only one God, and He has chosen to reveal Himself as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We believe man was created in the image of God and the sin of Adam (the first man) marred that image, creating an eternal divide between God and man. Every person is born in sin.
We believe the only way a person can have a true, forgiven relationship with God is through Jesus Christ’s sacrifice on the cross. Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary and conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus became man without ceasing to be God. Our right standing with God is made sure because of His literal, physical resurrection.
We believe in the literal, physical return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead.
We believe God offers eternal life as a free gift and that it must be received by faith alone through God’s grace alone through Jesus Christ. The life that comes from this gift is a permanent possession of the one receiving it.
