A few weeks ago, a friend called me. She was going through a tough time physically and had been for months, having multiple strokes and heart attacks, infections, struggles with her diabetes, one thing after another. Yet, she called me to encourage me as I was going through some health challenges. Now, I felt that my health challenges were much less than hers, but she called me to encourage me. She called me to encourage me. I was stunned.
Yesterday, this precious lady met Jesus face to face. I am so grateful for that last long phone call we had. She had longed for Jesus and rested peacefully in Him come what may. She knew of the faithfulness of our God. She spent time with Him and loved Him. She faithfully served, always wanting to serve others no matter what she was going through. She spent weeks in the hospital and rehab which are tough places to be, but spoke only of the good that she found there. She spoke of the ones with whom she had been able to share Jesus.
Faithful. This servant faithfully served our faithful God no matter where He placed her. It reminds me of the old Steve Green song, “Find Us Faithful.” May those who come behind us find us faithful as well!
