Daily Dose of Encouragement: Identity, Part 1

Romans 5:8-10 are our verses to meditate on this week. Please soak them in. God loves you so much. He loves us where we are, wanting to bring us closer to Him and make us more like Him.

So often, we who are fighting isolation and health battles feel that we are not worthy of God’s love. We feel that we have to prove ourselves before God will love us. This is simply not the case. God created us and loves us.

God loves us and longs to have a relationship with us. He gave His life for us while we were still His enemies because He longs for that relationship.

John 3:16

“16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Sometimes, this verse is so familiar to us that we don’t really comprehend the vast love that is communicated in the verse. Do you notice that God loved the world so much that He gave His Son? It doesn’t say that whosoever has perfect health or is strong or doesn’t have a past or is perfect should not perish. It says that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You, my friend, can put your name in the place of “the world” in this verse. God loves you. You may come to Him, broken, weak, a sinner. This link gives more information on salvation and believing on Him. We truly would love to help you know God’s love if you do not already.
