Monday Meditation

Disabled at 3 years of age and gifted with a growing list of chronic illnesses as the years have gone by, it is easy to struggle with identity. It is easy to think that I am not worth what others are or that I am unworthy of love. Striving to be good enough can easily creep in. Yet, as I meet more people who also struggle with disability and chronic illness, I quickly see that I am not alone.

I have good news for you. God loves you. He loves me. We do not have to behave in a certain way or achieve anything to be loved by God. Our meditation this week is on the love God has for us. Do you see that He commends His love to us while we were yet sinners? While we are at our most unlovely, actually enemies of God, He gave us love. Christ died for us to reconcile us to God!

Romans 5:8-10

“8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

10 For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.”

If you have not yet accepted this gift of love, there is more information as to what it all means here. We would love to talk to you about it. Please contact us here or in our Facebook group.
