Growing up, listening to “Unshackled” was a weekly routine and was a time we knew to be quiet and listen. (That in itself says a lot as our home was rarely quiet with five children!) The true stories told of people’s lives who were transformed by God. This radio program began in 1950.

“Unshackled” is a radio drama produced by Pacific Garden Mission. This mission has been in operation telling people in Chicago about Jesus and meeting physical needs since 1877.

Their consistent walk with God has been a transforming force in my life. These true stories were used often in my life to point me back to God, His forgiveness, and His love. I heard of people going through horrible times and how God worked. My own heart was challenged and encouraged.
