Tuesday Tip: It’s OK To Be Weary

This week, I heard several stories of people going through circumstances that are tiring. They are weary. As you each know, the journey of physical disability or chronic illness is challenging and wearying.

I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but it is okay to be weary. Faith in God does not mean we will never be tired or weary. We are very much human. Jesus showed us that when He wept, fell asleep in the boat, and was hungry. In fact, we cannot do this on our own. You do not have to be strong all the time.

You are human. Humans need rest. Humans have emotions. Humans have good days and bad days. The Psalms are full of the real walk of life. The Psalmist shows lament, sorrow, and weakness.

It is okay to be weary. It is what we do with the weary that makes the difference. Will we try to push through and be strong? Will you try to fake it? Will you rely on your own strength?

It is okay to be weary, but it is what we do with the weary that makes the difference.

Dear friend, don’t feel bad due to your weariness. Our God’s strength is seen most in our weakness.

When the weary comes, when you have no strength, learn to lean on Him.
