Daily Dose of Encouragement: Psalm 138:4-6

Psalm 138:4-6

“4 All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth.

Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the Lord.

Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.”

I love this next part of this Psalm which we began yesterday. It made me think of the testimony that we have amidst the medical staff. I realize that the verse is talking about kings hearing the Words of the Lord, but can’t we share His Words with our medical staff who often seem to be “better” than we are? Can we be a light to them so that they begin to sing of the ways of the Lord?

Our God is a great God and great is His glory!

But, you say, I am weak, poor, weary, and small. Oh, I feel that completely. Yet, no problem. As the verse says, God respects the lowly.  Based on the definitions, He sees the humble. You are seen. Just think of that: our God of all gods, King of all kings, Lord of all lords is near to those who are humble. God can use you even weak and weary! In fact, the verse goes on to say that He knows the proud from a distance. He knows the weak and weary up close. Wow.

I don’t know about you, but that brings me much joy and peace. God can use us, even us to share with the “kings of the earth” the glory of our great God.
