Today’s tip is a book that I believe will bless your heart.

Recently, a friend asked me to pre-read her son’s book that releases today, Knot by Knot: Untying Life’s Core Issues, by Davis Moore. What a tremendous blessing!

Davis’ writing is based solidly on God’s Word and applied to our daily lives. This book plainly explains several issues that Christians face today. It faces struggles that we face honestly and points us right back to the answers in His Word.

This book struck me in several ways as someone with disability and chronic illness, isolated. With permission, I share a few quotes from the book that struck me.

In the chapter entitled “The Extraordinary Ordinary,” Davis says in discussing Matthew 28:18-20 that the go in context is not only to go to other nations, but as you go about your daily life. “… Meaning as you live your daily life. As you go to the store because you are out of groceries. … As you sit in the waiting room at the dentist office waiting for the receptionist to call you.” Oh, that one hit me hard. You know that we as disabled, isolated, and chronically ill are in medical offices often or have medical personnel come to our homes. We are able to practice Matthew 28:18-20 as we go!

Another passage in the same chapter that seemed to apply to my life circumstance was, “How much of your identity is wrapped up in your personal visions of success? If God were to come to you and ask you to be a factory worker for the rest of your life, would you feel like you were wasting your life? Or would you lay hold of the quest God had assigned to you and say, ‘Yes, Lord.’” That quote hit me hard. I heard God say, “If I ask you to be isolated and chronically ill with declining health the remainder of your life, would you feel as if you were wasting your life, or would you say, “Yes, Lord?” Wow.

The book is the type of book that makes you want to study Scripture more. It helps you apply God’s Word to the day to day struggles of this Christian walk. I highly recommend the book!
