Daily Dose of Encouragement: Matthew 6:33-34

Several of you are in a situation as I am where our health went down unexpectedly and through no fault of our own. It is easy to allow this to change mourpriorities. I find myself in a constant battle to get as much health back as possible, to keep up with needed various exercises, eating plans, etc. I am always working to do just a bit better.

However, it is easy to have this become the main thing. It is easy to allow health to become my main goal. Don’t misunderstand me. It is a good thing to steward our health to have the best health for God’s service. But, anything that becomes the main thing in place of God is not a good thing. These verses hit me this week.

Matthew 6:33-34

“33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

34 Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.”

It hit me that I need to seek God first even in my health. Then, He takes care of everything else.

Seek Him first, most, always!
