Contentment: “Biblical contentment is an inward trust in God’s sovereignty and goodness that produces the fruit of joy and peace and thanksgiving in the life of a believer, regardless of outward circumstances.” ~Well-watered Women
Pain day. Respond with contentment.
Weak days. Respond with contentment.
Tedious days. Respond with contentment.
Running from one appointment to another days. Respond with contentment.
Need to ask for more help days? Respond with contentment.
Whatever the struggles, I want to respond with contentment. The list above basically reflects where I am right now. I must admit that I am very much still working on the responding with contentment. I tend to want to control things or have things my way rather than responding with contentment. I tend to get discouraged or frustrated rather than responding with contentment. How about you?
But what does God say? Let’s look at 1 Timothy 6:6-8.
“6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.”
We must be content as He faithfully cares for us and works things out according to His glory. This week, I pray that we will all learn contentment and experience the peace that comes with it!
