Daily Dose of Encouragement: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13

With not being able to get out much and the risk involved with my being out, there is a bit of heightened anxiety with any outing. It doesn’t help that by nature I am a planner. The combination means my thinking through every possible scenario. (I think in some ways, this is a gift from God since I do have to account for so many things before it is “safe” for me to go out.) However, it can also be exhausting.

In talking with many of my isolated or disabled friends, I realized that I am not alone.

God has been teaching me much recently that has helped me with this. He is bringing me rest in the midst of the unknown and exhaustion of my days.

1 Chronicles 29:10-13

“10 Wherefore David blessed the Lord before all the congregation: and David said, Blessed be thou, Lord God of Israel our father, for ever and ever.

11 Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all.

12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.”

Do you see it? God is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He is in control. I don’t need to worry. I don’t need to fret. Nothing will come to me that isn’t part of God’s plan.

Oh, yes, we are to use the wisdom God gives us, but if we mess up or make what seems to turn out to be a poor decision, God is still in control. What freedom, what rest this truth brings!

How about you? Are you worried today? Are you anxious about a diagnosis, a what if, or a decision? Are you frustrated with how something turned out? Even while you may not like what has happened, rest in this. God knows. God is still all-powerful, all-knowing, always present. He is still in control. Go to Him. Talk to Him about it! Our God is so big!
