Monday Meditation: Romans 5:8

I remember memorizing this verse in Uncle Glen’s Bible School or Sunday School as a young child, but it wasn’t until much later that I realized the wonder and depth of it.

Romans 5:8

“8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Do you see that? God didn’t, doesn’t, love us due to our being perfect. He doesn’t love us because we are perfect or worthy or whole. God loved us, and Jesus gave His life for us while we were sinners, broken, imperfect.

Hallelujah! Oh, Hallelujah!

Do you see what this means? God loves us right now. Broken, ashamed, unworthy. God loves us. God loves you. Come to Him and accept the sacrifice of Jesus’ death and resurrection.
