This past week seems to have flown by. How can we be in the final days of the year already?

This week, I am thankful for family time at Christmas. We had times with the family and time with my mom over the weekend. What a blessing.

My dear mom is one of my dearest and closest friends. She taught me of God’s love from the time I was born. She walked the road of illness and disability while fighting her own battles. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized how my illness and disability must have affected her, of hearing multiple times that your child may not live. Parents of disabled children know the daily battles you face, the daily tedium, the changed plans, the sacrifices you have to make. And yet, she did them all with a gracious and loving spirit.

Even this past weekend while she is not strong herself, she was looking for ways to assist while she was here. I am so blessed. We shared laughter and tears. What a precious time.

Today, I thank God for the time we had as well as for my Mom!
