Grateful November, Day 7

Gratefulness: Today, I am thankful for water. We are blessed to have ready access to good, clean water. I have lived through several hurricanes when water was not clean or plentiful. We used to go camping in places where we had to pump our own water. (We loved the camping!) Those experiences make you much more grateful for water!

Daring Devotion Thoughts from Day 7: Oh, I am so excited about today’s devotional. You see, it talks about the work done through prayer. You and I can be warriors in prayer despite our limitations and weaknesses.

James Fraser was a missionary to the Lisu people. His work was fueled by a prayer group begun by his mother. He began to see the power in prayer. Two quotes from the devotional ((Daring Devotion, Matt Conrad, Church Work Media, 2020) struck me:

  • “Solid, lasting missionary work is done on our knees.”
  • “I used to think that prayer should have the first place and teaching the second. I now feel that it would be truer to give prayer the first, second, and third place, and teaching the fourth.”

Could God have called us to be prayer warriors through our challenges? What difference could we make by taking prayer seriously?
