This tip comes to you from the great teacher of experience. My city was hit with a quite unexpected natural disaster this week. To be perfectly frank, I didn’t have a great disaster plan in place. (You would think that I would after going through Hurricane Ivan. Ahem… )
Here is my tip… Be prepared, but trust!
- Have a bag packed with meds, as needed meds, toiletries, cords, and an outfit or too. You know, have necessities packed. My mom has hospital bags packed. Keep all meds fresh.
- Have a few go to foods ready if you have specific dietary needs. Have a bit more than you think is necessary.
- Have a list of emergency numbers in case you cannot access your phone. (We learned this the hard way this week, too.)
- Make a list of what you need to take if you need to evacuate.
- Have battery backup for your power recliner.
- Prioritize health. Without it, you are not going to be able to do anything else.
- Look for blessings.
- Trust God. This week, there was a lot of trust involved in doing things that seemed impossible. We can’t prepare for every eventuality, but we can trust God throughout! He is in control. He is faithful.
It was a crazy week with many adventures, but God is good! 🙂 We learned lessons to Be Prepared! 🙂
