I have mentioned that we went through storms this week. One of my trees went down causing some damage.
Yesterday, we talked about Matthew 11:38-20. This passage has been coming to mean more to me in the last few days and weeks. You see, when we come unto Him, He carries the burden as we walk through life. We can be at peace just as a child carried in a father’s arms. He takes care of everything. We are carried.
My dear friend and I were talking about it yesterday. I told how it is bringing peace. She agreed and said, “God not only made the tree, He blew the wind.” He is an awesome God.
1 Chronicles 29:11-12, “11 Thine, O Lord is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.”
He is our great and powerful God in control of the winds and waves. Remember when the disciples were in the boat when a storm came up? They were amazed to see Him control the wind and waves. I am just as amazed today even as I look around my neighborhood.
Matthew 8:24-27, “24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. 25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish. 26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm. 27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!”
This same Jesus, this same God is in control of my life and of your life.
As I thought about how God is in control, how He grew the tree and blew the wind, I thought of a song from long ago that talks about God growing another tree. He grew the tree that made the cross on which He would die for me.
Think about that.
He loved you that much. He LOVES you that much.
He grew the tree.
