Wednesday Wit & Wisdom

My disability is not my identity, but it is my reality.

This truth is something that has struck me recently.

My identity is found in Christ.

1 John 3:1-3

“3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 3 And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.” The New King James Version (Nashville: Thomas Nelson, 1982), 1 Jn 3:1–3.

My reality is shaped and affected by the disability and chronic illnesses. My life is very different from others’ lives due to what I have to do to manage my health. This is not a bad thing. It has struck me recently that this reality keeps me close to our Gardener as Jesus talks about in John 15.

Your reality may be disability and chronic illness. Yet, I have good news. Your identity can be found in Christ Jesus. If you would like to know more, please let us know.
