Tuesday Tip: Control

Control. We all like to be in control of our lives in one way or another. I am convinced that one of the hardest things in this journey of disability and chronic illness is the loss of control.

We want to be able to be there for hurting loved ones, but our health may get in the way. Our schedule for the day/week is completely reliant on medical appointments and strength. We want to be strong, yet we are weak. We want to be reliable, but have to cancel plans last minute despite our best intentions. We miss out on a lot. Even housework is dependent on our strength that day.

Yet, there is good news. God is completely in control; He is trustworthy. He doesn’t see our lack of control and strength as lack of worth. He loves us so much.

Rest in Him in this lack of control. He is in control. Leave it all in His hands!
