There is a debate in Christian circles regarding Bible translations. I saw this quote in a missionary book I am reading, What God Can Do: Letters to my Mom from the Medical Mission Field of Togo, West Africa.
“Whenever the church doors were open, our family was there to attend. My parents were not perfect parents, but they were always striving and growing. I liked my mom’s translation of the Bible best—she translated it into everyday life. ”
It made me realize that my life is a translation of the Bible to others. Is it the best translation they have seen?
Today, I will be going to more unexpected, but necessary medical appointments. It is not how I would like to spend the day to be sure. However, God has ordained it. He gives us these unique opportunities. Will I glorify Him through it? Will we glorify Him through it?
