A dear friend sent me this text a few days ago, “Just heard this quote: ‘Sometimes when you’re in a dark place, you think you’ve been buried. But actually, you’ve been planted.’” (Christine Cain)
Woah. That “sat down hard and took up a lot of pew” as my dad used to say. It challenged my heart.
Some of you are in a dark place right now. The problem with dark places is that we can’t always see the Light of what God is doing. During these times, please trust our God. A couple verses come to mind that show how God uses the dark places of our lives to bring changes in our lives, to turn them for good.
“19 God shall hear, and afflict them,
Even he that abideth of old. Selah.
Because they have no changes,
Therefore they fear not God.”
“67 Before I was afflicted I went astray:
But now have I kept thy word.”
“28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. 29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.”
Trust that God is at work for good even when you can’t see it.
