Are you struggling in the isolation of chronic illness and disability? Do the days seem tedious and long? Is it one day after another of monotony of medical tasks and disappointment?
Recently, the tedium of living with multiple conditions that require constant work to balance and keep a “baseline” of health began to overwhelm me. It seemed that all I was doing was taking care of health conditions. It was discouraging.
God answered my prayers about this in an unusual way. It had become so easy to become distracted with technology, to be perfectly blunt and honest. I asked Him for help in using time for Him. God directed me to godly podcasts and Bible studies and other ways to put Him first, to seek Him first.
I would love to say that my medical needs simply disappeared. They did not. The tedium did not change. Instead, God is changing me. He took the discouragement and overwhelm out of the equation for me.
I was reminded again. Seek God. Seek Him first. Then, everything else dims in comparison.
My friend, are you struggling? Seek Him. He is the answer.
“2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.”
“6 Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:”
“25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.”
“8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”
