Blessing comes from trusting and hoping in the Lord.
My Grandma endured countless trials in this life. Yet, she walked through life with a sweetness about her that affected everyone who met her. How? You would find her light on at 4:00 AM as she spent an hour with her God. This was her secret. She trusted and hoped in the Lord.
“7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.
8 For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.”
As I read these verses, I notice something. The person who trusts and hopes in the Lord is not spared the trials of life. However, thy meet these trials and walk through them differently. The trials do not have the same affect on them that they would on others. They continue to flourish in the heat. They are not affected by want in the year of drought and continue to bear fruit.
Have you ever met the people who seem at total peace in the midst of the unspeakable circumstances? Oh, they feel the grief and pain. Yet, they have a peace and calmness about them. The difference is trusting and hoping in our Lord. They stay near Him to meet their needs in these tough times.
Blessed is the one who trusts and hopes in the Lord!
