Daily Dose of Encouragement: A Dichotomy

Yesterday, rolling (scooter, you know) down the streets of Lansing with dear faithful servants of God singing praises to our dear Savior, my heart was stirred. It was a piece of heaven on earth. Yet, the reason that we were praising together was that we were moving a ministry to a new location where they will continue to serve those going through deeply painful periods of their lives.

The new facility is incredible, absolutely incredible. It is a beautiful place for people to have not just physical needs met, but spiritual needs met.

Light and Darkness. Joy and Pain. Heaven and Earth. Despair and Hope.

2 Corinthians 4:8-11

“8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.

11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.”

On this earth, we experience pain. But… joy is coming. What brings us this hope? Jesus! Jesus Saves!

Psalm 30 gives us hope that joy is coming in the morning. Revelation 21:4 tells us that God will wipe away all tears from our eyes. This brings hope.
