Daily Dose of Encouragement: Identity, Part 28

Who are you? Who are you in Christ?

We have learned that we change as we become more like Christ. The more we know Him and follow Him, the more we become like Him. Our true identity and all that God can do through us and in our life is revealed the more we know Him.

The book of John shows the disciples getting to know Jesus better and wanting to know the Father (John 14:8-9). Jesus tells Philip that to know Jesus is to know the Father. Jesus, Son of God, knew the Father intimately. Shirer mentions these verses:

  1. John 5:19
  2. John 5:23
  3. John 6:46
  4. John 8:16
  5. John 8:29
  6. John 10:30
  7. John 10:38
  8. John 12:50

Spend time with our Savior. Knowing Him will change you. You will become the person God means for you to be. Oh, your problems will not disappear, but the way you handle them will be more Christ-like.

Spend time with Him today!

Note: We are loosely following the study Definedby Priscilla Shirer. Her book goes much more in-depth; I believe it will be encouraging to you. Each week in the study, there are video lessons to watch. I found them on Youtube at this link. The book and study are based on the movie Overcomer which is on Amazon Prime or available at the link.
