Daily Dose of Encouragement: Identity, Part 20

In our last post on identity, we learned of “the Fall.” Through this fall, sin entered the world. Sin was “imputed” onto us.  Romans 3:23 says, “23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

When we sin, we are essentially putting ourselves above God and His will/plan for us. It is pride.

Romans 12:3“3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

Instead of this pride, we ask God’s forgiveness for our sins and proceed in the faith that God has given us. We can ask as the desperate father asked Jesus, “Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.”

Hang in there with us. This faith in Christ affects our identity greatly!

Note: In the next few weeks, we will be loosely following the study Definedby Priscilla Shirer. Her book goes much more in-depth; I believe it will be encouraging to you. Each week in the study, there are video lessons to watch. I found them on Youtube at this link. The book and study are based on the movie Overcomer which is on Amazon Prime or available at the link.
