Faithful.
Our God is amazing. His love makes me want to be faithful to Him. I fail often. Yet, He forgives, loves, and restores me.
This passage in 1 Peter 5:8-10 spoke to my heart this week and challenged me in my faithfulness to Him.
“8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.”
We are to remain vigilant, even in the midst of hardness. We can only do this by God’s grace. We must resist the devil in our faith. Then, there is a promise at the end. He will do a work in us after we have suffered a while, making us perfect, stablished, strengthened, and settled.
Oh, that we would be faithful no matter the circumstances!
