Daily Dose of Encouragement: Waiting on God, Part 5

Sometimes, it is easy to look to humans to fulfill our needs and to get frustrated when we have to wait to have those needs fulfilled. The Psalmist shows us a different perspective.

Psalm 62:5-6

“5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.”

These verses show that the Psalmist waited on God alone to have his needs met. Here, the term “wait” is used in the sense of being quiet, at peace. The Psalmist was expecting God to act and take care of needs.

The Psalmist wasn’t leaning on people for needs to be met, but on God. He knew that God would come through, would defend HIm, be His rock, salvation, and defence. In it, he would not be moved. He would be able to stand firm.

Our God is the same God of the Psalmist. You can wait on Him if you have trusted Him as Savior. If you would like more information on becoming a child of God and knowing Him personally, please contact us here or in the Home Connections Facebook page.
