Daily Dose of Encouragement: God Has It Under Control

Have things happened that make you wonder if God is still in control? Do you worry that if you had made different choices that the outcome would be better? Are you facing decisions now that make you wonder what to do?

A friend and I were chatting about these things this weekend. Part of my medical issues now stem from medications that were given for years that I was told were necessary. If I could go back and do it over again, I would take a different path.

This fact made me stop and think. As my parents reminded me again and again, none of what happened was a surprise to God. He uses these things in our lives even when we don’t understand. Whether the circumstances were from other’s choices or our own poor past choices, He can redeem them and use them for good. (Romans 8:28-29)

This Psalm brought comfort to me today. He is in control. He will work even in the hard.

Psalm 33:8-11

“8 Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

10 The Lord bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

11 The counsel of the Lord standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.”

I love this song, ” I Am Not My Own.” The line that jumped out to me this morning is “There is nothing broken that He cannot repair.”

Oh, praise God for that!
