Daily Dose of Encouragement: Created for Good Works

Have you ever asked what God’s purpose is for your life during the long times of weakness and/or isolation? Life can seem long and pointless when we can’t leave our homes for days or do anything more productive than very basic needs.

In those times, remember Ephesians 2:8-10:

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”

Our salvation is a gift of God, not dependent upon us. We are saved by grace through faith. (To learn more about God’s gracious gift of salvation, please learn more here or contact us.)

Think of this wonderful truth! Our life has purpose. We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.

What does that mean for the tough times when isolation and weakness prevail? He has a purpose for you even in those times. Those good works may not look like what we had anticipated. They may be praising Him and living for Him even when it is just you and Him.

Selah.
