A few weeks ago, my shoes broke. What’s the big deal? I only had one pair of shoes. My brother graciously helped me brainstorm to figure out how we could repair them. Thankfully, we found a work-around. Due to my AFO (ankle/leg brace), shoes must be special ordered and are expensive. Typically, you have to buy two pair of these expensive shoes to fit both feet as the brace means about a 2-size difference in shoes from one foot to another. (For a time, this was the pair of shoes I had… think anyone noticed they are two different sizes?)

Yesterday, I felt so blessed. I mean abundantly blessed. I now have two pair of shoes that fit and work for me. Two pair of shoes! Can you imagine this extravagance?
Why is that a big deal? From my first stroke as a preschool child, shoes have been an issue. God has provided shoes in amazing ways throughout the years. A few years ago, we found the company Orthofeet which has amazing options. The last I knew, they didn’t offer mismatched sizes in a pair of shoes. One of my other brothers found a company called Billy Shoes. They offer shoes designed for AFO use and offer mismatched pairs. Both companies are amazing and have incredible customer service.
Billy Shoes offering mismatched shoes has allowed me to get two pair of shoes. Isn’t that incredible?
So, today, I am thankful for shoes, more specifically, God’s provision of shoes.
What are you thankful for today?
