God has called us to be long-suffering.
I don’t know about you, but it doesn’t come naturally. As my dad used to say, we live in a microwave culture. We want everything now. Yet, things rarely go on our timetable.
How will we respond when this happens? When suffering doesn’t end quickly?
God has gifted those who trust Him with the Holy Spirit. Long-suffering is a fruit of the Spirit. It is not something we do in our own strength, but in His.
“22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
I am so thankful that we are able to suffer long through His Spirit. While we wait, we can worship God.
