Wednesday Walk

What does a prayer warrior look like?

The most powerful prayer warriors I have known would be considered fragile or weak by the world. They all three love/loved Jesus with their all and would drop everything to pray for you or help in any way. All three have/had physical issues that would stop others in their tracks. Yet, their countenances radiated joy. They spent hours just talking to their Father each day, spending time in His Word daily.

  • My Grandma spent an hour each morning with God. This time was sacred and not to be interrupted. The love of Christ shone through her. She loved us where we were and would do anything for us. Each child was special. She went through more in her lifetime than most, yet she radiated joy.
  • My mom continued this legacy. Many times when we were little when Mom would have us sit by the couch and pray for people and needs and then watch God work. Jesus shines through my mom.
  • When I was eleven, we moved to a new city. The “church grandma” became our “adopted grandma.” She was crippled by arthritis, but was so faithful and had the warmest smile of all. She prayed diligently for the church, her family and anyone else who crossed her path. She also radiated God’s love and joy.

Each of these dear ladies’ strength came from/comes from God, from hours of prayer. Oftentimes, illness leaves us feeling weak and without purpose. Yet, we can walk the walk of a prayer warrior. You can follow in these dear ladies’ footsteps in the life of praying for others, spending time with Jesus.
