Monday Memorization is our new Monday blog category.

I can hear you now. “I can’t memorize.” I understand. Memorizing verses used to come so easy for me. I thank God for all the verses that I memorized in my youth.

Years ago as a young adult, a Sunday School teacher mentioned that God says to meditate on His Word and hide it in your heart. If you struggle to memorize, do not shy away from working on memorizing verses. Read the verse (or passage) every day, several times a day. Write the verse up and put it around your home where you will see it. After a week (or whatever time frame), it will be in your heart. You may not be able to repeat it back word for word, but it will be hidden in your heart.

We have been studying prayer; the verse for the week should look familiar. We are starting out with a simpler verse as it may have been awhile since many of us have memorized verses.

1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.”

Pray all the time. Pray constantly.
