Tuesday Tip: Pray

Tip for today: Pray! Pray throughout the day. Just talk to God. We have a friend in Jesus!

Talking to God is so important. Prayer changes us as we take our burdens to God or just sit and talk with Him. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “Pray without ceasing.”

  • Jesus modeled it through Scripture by praying for hours and going apart by Himself to pray.
  • Daniel was so known by his times of prayer that his enemies used these times against him to have him sent to the lions’ den.
  • George Mueller was an example of taking all needs to God and trusting Him for it all.
  • Martin Luther said, “I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in Prayer.”

We who are isolated and weak are in a unique position to have time to pray. What if God is calling us to this prayer and time with Him?

But, you say, just surviving is taking all my strength right now. Yes, I feel you. Pray while you go about your day. While we should set aside to time to talk to God, we can also pray as we move through the day with whatever we are doing. We can use this time to talk to our God.

Recently, I have been asking God to help me in this area. It is amazing the difference it makes in me when I take everything to Him in prayer. Problems shrink. Anxiety subsides. Spiritual strength increases. Peace settles in.
