Daily Dose of Encouragement: 1 Peter 4:1-2

So many of you are suffering right now. As I was praying for you this morning, I was thinking about it and wondering (honestly) why you have to go through all of the suffering. Then, I remembered how God has a plan. He brings beauty from ashes. He makes all things work together for good. (Romans 8:28)

1 Peter 4:1-2

Forasmuch then as Christ hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;

That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.”

These verses bring a different perspective. My prayer and question changed as I remembered these verses. It is part of living in this fallen world. Christ suffered. We suffer. God can use that suffering for His glory, to make us more holy, and to bring us closer to God.

As we walk in suffering today, let’s look at it from this different perspective.

I am praying that God will give grace, peace, strength, and a closer relationship to Him through the suffering!
