One thing struck me as I read today’s “one another” passages. We have to be willing to allow others to “one another” us as well. I don’t know about you, but sometimes it is harder to allow people to help me than it is to help others. It is sometimes hard to listen to others give you wisdom than it is to give wisdom. Our hearts have to be humble and willing to be “one another’d” by others. We have to realize that we all have times of being the one in need. Today as we look at how we should help each other, let’s also remember how we should allow others to help us.
- Teach one another
- Colossians 3:16, “16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
- Comfort one another
- 1 Thessalonians 4:18, “18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
- Encourage one another
- 1 Thessalonians 5:11, “11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.”
- Exhort one another
- Hebrews 3:13, “13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
We are to teach, admonish, comfort, encourage, and exhort one another!
