Love one another.
God has much to say about loving one another as we are to have His love for others. Let’s continue to look at the verses about loving one another.
“With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;”
Oh, this can be a challenging one. According to Blue Letter Bible, forbear means
-
to hold up
-
to hold one’s self erect and firm
-
to sustain, to bear, to endure
I find that especially in an illness flare or while in pain, it seems to be harder to do. Yet, if God has commanded for us (repeatedly!) to love one another, He will provide the way and strength to do so.
“And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:”
Look at that! Paul says that the Lord can make us increase and abound in love one to another and toward all men. We can ask God for help in loving one another!
“But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.”
Paul doesn’t need to write more about loving one another. The Thessalonians had been taught by God to love one another.
God has so much to say about loving one another, but isn’t it exciting to know that we do not have to do it alone? God will give us the strength and help us!
