Daily Dose of Encouragement: Psalm 138:1-3

Psalm 138:1-3

“138 I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.

I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.”

I love the verses above. This week, I struggled, honestly. The load of all of the chronic illnesses and disability just seemed heavy this week. I resented the issues and stressed they caused. Have you been there?

You know what, it is okay to express those emotions to God. He knows. Then, praise Him and ask Him to help. Oh, the feelings of resentment may not leave completely. Praise anyway. Those are just feelings. They are ok to feel, but are not always truth. The hard may remain. However, God gives strength through it as He turns out resentment into praise.

This passage shows that when we cry out to God, He strengthens us. Did you notice that the verses don’t mention the hard of what the Psalmist is facing being removed. It says that God strengthened his soul.

What are you facing right now? Are you struggling to face it? Our God is able to help and strengthen us! Talk to Him, ask for help and praise Him. He is our great God!
