Psalm 86:15, “15 But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.”
Let’s take a moment to think about God’s love today. While our verse for the day does not contain the word “love,” it tells of His love through and through.
Looking at who God is today will bring comfort to our souls.
- He is full of compassion. Going through a hard, overwhelming time? God cares. He is full of compassion.
- He is gracious. God gives us what we do not deserve. He showers blessings on us each day.
- He is long suffering. Oh, how thankful I am that He is long suffering with us. I know my own failures and weaknesses. I have so much more to learn and so many ways in which I need to grow. He is patient with our weaknesses and human-ness.
- He is plenteous in mercy and truth. Oh, we need mercy where we do not get what we do deserve. Dear Jesus took the punishment for us. He is also truth. In this challenging life, we need this truth!
What an encouragement these characteristics of our God are to me as they show His love. What a wonderful God He is! I hope these verses encourage your hearts as well.
