Have you ever tried to love someone who was unlovable? It isn’t easy.
Do you know what is even more difficult? When you know you are the one that is unlovable.
Ephesians 2:4-5, “4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, 5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”
I am completely awed by these verses which remind me of Romans 5:8. To love someone who is lovable is one thing, but to love someone while they are still dead in sins is completely different. God loved us when we were still dead in sin. He loved us while we were still sinners.
Not only did He love us then, but He quickened us (made us alive) with Christ. All of this is by His grace. He saved us by His grace. He loves us.
Isn’t that amazing? What a God! He loves you; He loves me! That is true love.
