Daily Dose of Encouragement: 1 Peter 4:12-13

Sometimes, as Christians, we think that we will not have as much trouble here in this world. We seem to perceive that all will be thornless roses. But look at what Peter says. 1 Peter 4:12-13, “12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.”

Sadly, the truth is that there is much suffering in this world. Jesus Himself was an example of enduring suffering. We are in good company. As we go through hardship, we know that we are partakers of His sufferings.

Isaiah 53 shows how much Jesus suffered for us. I encourage you to read it. It shows just how much Jesus endured for us. We will have suffering, but hold on, my fellow sufferer, my friend. Joy and glory are coming. Hold on just a little longer!

And, remember that He holds us fast.
