Opportunity.
What tip could be about opportunity?
I think it comes from a matter of perspective on challenges in our lives.
Today I face a situation that is distasteful. As I was praying about it this morning, I realized something. This is an opportunity to follow Jesus’ example, to lift up Christ.
How did Jesus respond to:
- suffering (Isaiah 53),
- being reviled (1 Peter 2:23, Matthew 5:11),
- His enemies (even when they were going to kill Him) (Luke 23:34)?
I think as the isolated, chronically ill, and disabled, we experience “opportunities” often. The nature of our isolation means we can perseverate on situations easily until they grow since we have nothing else to think about. How should we respond to suffering or poor treatment? Jesus gives us an example. He
Now, I am not saying this is easy. I am saying that we have Him as an example. He showed us that we can respond in gentleness and love. The Holy Spirit will assist us with responding in ways that will glorify God. Lean on Him.
As we spend this season thinking about Jesus, let’s lift Him high in our lives!
