Tuesday Tip: Keeping House

Did you ever pretend to “keep house” as a child? I did. Somehow, the adult version doesn’t resemble the fun of doing it as a child.

One struggle that chronically ill/disabled have is doing household chores, any household chores or “keeping house.” I am no exception. I have tried lists and various plans that people claim work wonders. However, it still is always a seemingly uphill battle. Speaking with some of you, I know you face the same quandry.

Currently, I am working to keep dishes and laundry proceeding daily along with one or two other tasks, working around the house. Some days I am able to do more than others, but this does keep things moving along.

Also, I have learned that I must have the right tools to accommodate for my weakness and limitations. It is a balance of resources – time and energy vs finances.

However, these two things still leave me always fighting to stay one step ahead. I would love to hear your tips. What processes have you found that assist you? What methods do you use to stay a step ahead? Perhaps we can all help each other in this never-ending job of “keeping house.”
