Gratefulness: What are you thankful for today? Today, I am thankful for our veterans. My brother served. When your relative has served, you better understand the sacrifices made. Thank you, to our Veteran’s!
Daring Devotion Thoughts from Day 10: Today’s devotion is about Jim Elliot, martyred for God. His quote to begin the chapter hit me. “Wherever you are, be all there. Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God.” (Daring Devotion, Matt Conrad, Church Works Media, 2020)
I know of some of your situations. They are hard. I mean, they are HARD. They are the daily, grinding, wearing hard. Isolation is hard. They don’t use solitary confinement for a punishment because it is fun. How can we be all there, living life to the hilt in these situations? Perhaps the hardest part of the isolated life is that we didn’t choose it.
1 Corinthians 15:58, “58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
God knows. He asks only that we be stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord. Our work looks different than the work of others. Yet, we can still, by His grace and in His strength, serve Him.
This devotional was an encouragement to an overwhelmed soul. I trust it will encourage you as well!
