The past week has been a whirlwind as I continue to learn the new parameters of my life. It hit me this week.

This is hard.

Changing one’s lifestyle suddenly without notice and many limitations is simply hard. To be honest, there are days I long for the things to which I am now allergic.

God is faithful.

Something I heard in a message years ago has come to mind multiple times over the past week. When we long for something here on earth, it should send us to God. It should make us realize that we should be satisfied with Him here on this earth. It should remind us that this world is fallen and imperfect. We will long for things to be better, to be different. Turn that longing over to God and let Him fulfill us.

Psalm 63:1, “63 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;”

We thirst for Him. We long for Him. And, He satisfies.

Psalm 107:9, “⁹ For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.”

Once again, God is faithful.
