Saturday Scripture

Today’s Scripture is actually a compilation of Scripture.

My heart was burdened and broken when hearing of deep needs of friends this week. The need is so great. Then, this phrase came to my heart over and over, “… but God…”

What? Why that phrase?

Let’s take a look at the power of that phrase through Scripture, KJV:

  • Genesis 8:1: “And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters assuaged;”
  • Genesis 50:20: “20 But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.”
  • Psalm 73:26: “26 My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”
  • 1 Samuel 23:14: “14 And David abode in the wilderness in strong holds, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God delivered him not into his hand.”
  • Jonah 2:6: “I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever: yet hast thou brought up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.”
  • Matthew 19:26: “26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.”
  • Romans 5:6-8: “For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
  • Romans 6:23: “23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
  • Acts 3:15: “15 And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.”
  • Acts 7:9-10: “And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, 10 And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.”
  • Acts 13:29-30: “29 And when they had fulfilled all that was written of him, they took him down from the tree, and laid him in a sepulchre. 30 But God raised him from the dead:”
  • 1 Corinthians 10:13: “13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
  • Ephesians 2:4-7: “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”
  • 2 Timothy 2:19: “19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

There are many more in Scripture, but I found the list above and had to share them. There are also more listed here. Think also of Ruth and Naomi, Daniel, Esther, Lazarus, and so many others in Scripture. When God steps into the picture, things change!

I continue to pray for these dear ones who are in such difficult circumstances, for God to enter and change their story.
