Those who have worked with the medical system for a long time will know how amazing this Thankful Thursday is.

Background: My health has meant many medical appointments from the time I was little. Yes, I have my horror stories of “bad” doctors. They are just human after all: a fact I like to forget. In the past few years, I have been incredibly blessed with great doctors: loving, caring, willing to listen, willing to help me find my best health and walk the journey. I have been and am so grateful.

Recently, for a variety of reasons, I have acquired three new doctors. I have met two of them so far. Both are great. Yesterday, I went for a follow-up with one of them and was completely blown away. This dear doctor listened when things weren’t adding up. She was also willing to think “outside the box” to help me get back to health, as much as I can. I came away stunned, overwhelmed and overjoyed.

So, today, I am thankful for a team of doctors who truly care and see patients as people.
