After being told for the first time in four+ years that I could go to a grocery store early in the morning with lots of germ-x, I have been stuck inside for multiple other reasons such as surgery, infection, and car trouble.
Today, I went to pick up my car and the engine quit in the parking lot of the repair place just after I started it. Seriously. The people at the shop have been amazing as they have worked hard to figure out what in the world is going on with it. They could not believe it. As we stood there chatting about it, I realized something. It is good that if this is going to happen it happened to me as I don’t go out often.
Yes, it has been disappointing to not be able to get out when I now have been released to go out some. It has been inconvenient to move around medical appointments and work with my brother’s family to share vehicles. (I am very thankful for their working with me on that!)
But… am I going to trust? Am I going to believe that God is going to work this all out? Yes. One day at a time, I will wait on Him. I will look for the blessings and remind myself of the Bible verses that tell me He is in control.
- Philippians 4:19
- 1 Peter 5:7
- Matthew 6:31-32
- Matthew 6:8
- Psalm 23:1-4
- Proverbs 3:5-6
- Luke 12:24
- Romans 8:28-29
So, when these situations come that we don’t understand and don’t know the answer, we can trust Him. (Yes, as I write this, I am reminding myself of that.) I don’t understand as I want to get out of the house and also feel badly for the people at the shop. But, I do know my God. He has this! He is going to take care of this! Stay tuned… one day soon I will share the amazing things God does to resolve this.
I don’t know what you are facing, but am hoping that maybe sharing my situation will help you as well as we shift our perspective and lean on God.
