Sunshine, strawberries, and strength brought me joy this week.
Yesterday was the first trek to the orchard to purchase fresh, in-season produce. It was a beautiful sunny day for our drive. It was my first longer drive since surgery.
A dear life-long friend and I go together as often as we can throughout the growing season and stop by to see my mom. There is much laughter and good fellowship. There was praise for our God in the midst of difficult situations. We don’t know what the outcome of these situations is, but we do know our God.
What others may take for granted meant a lot to me. Yesterday after resting from the trip, I began preparing the strawberries to freeze. Slowly, with lots of breaks, I was able to get about half of them done. My hope is to prepare the remainder today. Again, there was joy and praise as I had enough strength to prepare fresh food even if it took awhile. Due to my extensive food allergies and restrictions, this is a necessary task each year. God provided the strength for it. Praise His Name!
My joy is full this morning as we face another day with our Lord.
